Meadowlark Botanical Gardens - Vienna, Virginia

It was a perfect spring day today. So, what better way to spend it than by wandering around a botanical garden? However, I was not the only one with this brilliant idea. The 95 acres were filled with families, couples getting their engagement photos taken, people like me just snapping away and oh, there was also a wedding going on! Quite the busy place for a Sunday.

I really took advantage of my macro lens today (as you'll see below), and the grass stains and dirt on my jeans prove it. I spent two hours trying to take in every plant and flower that was there, and even a turtle or two. I do regret only spending about 5 minutes sitting and really enjoying Meadowlark Botanical Gardens without a camera up to my eye, but I know I'll be going back there. I haven't explored it all yet!

Oh I am so jealous. I woke up to a world covered in snow. Not what I want to see in Spring. Very beautiful images they have me longing for the warmer days.

Yep! Sorry, just wasn't up to shooting in 95 degree heat this weekend :(

I really wanted to though. I'm going to try to get out the weekend of the 9th but if not I will definitely be shooting the weekend after that!

Sorry for being a slacker! :)

About This Blog

Just a small photo project to get me back in touch with nature. I'll explore Regional and National parks close to home and where ever I may travel, armed with a good pair of hiking boots and a camera.
